Launch of a new edition of young detainees’ program

The Moussalaha Center launched, on Monday 8 June 2026, at the local prison of Salé, in cooperation and close coordination with the DGAPR, a new edition of its rehabilitation program dedicated to young detainees (under 20 years old) prosecuted in cases related to terrorism. This initiative is part of the Center’s integrated strategy aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals convicted in cases linked to extremism and terrorism. It is based on dismantling violent extremist narratives and promoting alternative discourses grounded in the values of citizenship, tolerance, and moderation.

Twenty-five detainees will benefit from this edition, which will be supervised by a multidisciplinary team. The program focuses on intellectual and religious support as well as specialized psychological assistance. The families of the beneficiaries will also be involved in this rehabilitation process through listening and communication sessions.

The opening of this program, which will run for a period of six months, was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Abbadi, Secretary-General of the Mohammadia League of Scholars and President of the Moussalaha Center. On this occasion, he delivered an orientation lecture on various intellectual and ethical issues, in which he highlighted the central role of the pursuit of knowledge as a foundation for human progress and the development of civilization.

The beneficiary detainees have expressed strong interest and a firm determination to continue participating in the program’s various activities, given the opportunities it offers them in terms of intellectual and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as strengthening their reintegration process.
