Program’s philosophy

The Moussalaha Program is founded on two core principles:

  1. Guidance from His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him: The program aligns with His Majesty’s directives to promote citizenship, tolerance, and moderation, while fostering civic responsibility across Moroccan society. His Majesty emphasizes the importance of reforming the criminal justice system based on citizenship, accountability, responsibility, and equality in rights, duties, and opportunities. The program also upholds the human dignity of incarcerated individuals, recognizing that judicial sentences do not strip them of their inherent dignity.
  2. Building on the Equity and Reconciliation project: The program extends the lessons of these workshops in a new format, aiming to create both objective and subjective conditions for reconciling inmates convicted under the Anti-Terrorism Law with society. It seeks to address the material and moral harm caused by their extremist actions, facilitating reintegration and social harmony.
