Launch of the second edition of the “Scientific Conferences” Program

As part of its ongoing efforts in intellectual rehabilitation and the strengthening of spiritual security within correctional institutions, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), in cooperation with the Moussalaha Center, launched on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the local prison of Salé, the “Scientific Conferences” program, aimed at inmates involved in cases of extremism and terrorism. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Mohammadia League of Scholars, President of the Moussalaha Center, along with a group of experts and instructors supervising the program.

The program seeks to help beneficiaries disengage from extremist ideology, consolidate the values of tolerance and moderation, and reject excess and extremism, thereby contributing to their positive reintegration into society after the completion of their sentences.

The organization of this edition builds on the success of the program’s first edition, which benefited 345 inmates.

The program is supervised by specialized experts and instructors the Mohammadia League of Scholars and the Moussalaha Center. It is based on interactive lectures and scientific discussion workshops held over three days for each session, encouraging dialogue and critical thinking, helping to correct misconceptions, and strengthening the proper understanding of religious texts and values.

From the local prison of Salé, 40 inmates are participating in this second edition of the aforesaid program. The remaining thirteen sessions will be implemented in other correctional institutions across various regions of the Kingdom during this year, as part of a comprehensive approach aimed at expanding the circle of beneficiaries and enhancing the impact of reform programs within the prison environment.

Through this program, the Moussalaha Center reaffirms its commitment to continuing the development of its scientific and rehabilitation initiatives, in coordination with its institutional partners, in order to strengthen efforts to prevent extremism, promote a culture of moderation and dialogue, and consolidate intellectual security and social peace, in accordance with the directives of the Center’s Steering Council.
