The goal is to equip participants with critical thinking and reasoning skills, alongside values of tolerance and openness rooted in the principle of respecting differences. Training is grounded in expert understanding and application of religious texts, guided by a conceptual framework that draws its legitimacy from the religious authority of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The activities within this component primarily aim to correct misconceptions and identify the flaws inherent in extremist and fanatical discourse. They provide inmates with the tools to analyze and understand extremist narratives that contribute to intellectual stagnation and radical behavior, both religiously and socially. This approach employs rhetoric and parables to facilitate comprehension and convey the intended message.

It also emphasizes that religion encompasses not only belief and morality but also legislation, whose overarching objectives are to promote individual and communal well-being, maintain social order, and foster the development of society.

Additionally, this component addresses the dangers of “deductive reasoning,” whereby some individuals mistakenly believe that advocating for truth requires no effort, resources, or skill. They may interpret certain Quranic verses as if revealed solely for them, assuming this gives them the power to transform others from wrongdoing to righteousness. This misconception is corrected by highlighting that meaningful change requires understanding priorities, proper coordination, and careful planning.

Legal and Human Rights Rehabilitation: This component aims to equip inmates with a thorough understanding and appreciation of the legal framework that governs the relationship between individuals, society, and the state. It emphasizes adherence to legal norms, grounded in the balance of rights and responsibilities, and promotes positive interactions among citizens. The training fosters a sense of national belonging while respecting the principle of the right to differ.

Interveners in this component of the training also aim to transform inmates’ perceptions of the legal system, helping them recognize it not merely as a punitive or deterrent tool, but also as a mechanism for protection and justice. The component is organized around several sub-modules, including: the human rights movement in Morocco; global, regional, and local human rights mechanisms; the 2011 Constitution and frameworks for human rights management and good governance in Morocco; and international and local laws pertaining to terrorist-related crimes.

Psychological and Behavioral Rehabilitation: This component focuses on equipping inmates with cognitive and behavioral skills to strengthen their resilience, prevent susceptibility to extremist ideologies, and facilitate positive reintegration after release. It helps participants reconstruct their perceptions, address fears, and positively align expectations through training sessions, individual interviews, and psychological assessments, covering the following areas:

Group Sessions: These sessions cover a wide range of concepts and terminology, and are conducted in a manner that encourages active listening, engagement, and participation according to each participant’s level of understanding and learning. The goal is to equip beneficiaries with the tools, methods, and strategies needed to strengthen their resilience.

Individual Sessions: One-to-one meetings with each inmate employ specialized listening techniques to help participants recall memories, develop the psychological capacity to process them, and become aware of psychological vulnerabilities. These steps are essential for recovery and for addressing deficits in defense mechanisms that may have originated in early developmental stages.

Socio-Economic Rehabilitation:

The objective of this vital component is not only to equip inmates with the skills and competencies needed to leverage their existing abilities and qualifications to develop self-employment projects that foster socio-economic independence, but also to enable them to contribute positively to their social environment. The aim is to achieve meaningful reconciliation with society by adopting a constructive and practical approach, moving beyond mere verbal commitments.

This component emphasizes both the creation of self-employment ventures and the development of community projects. To ensure the success of this initiative and help restore participants’ dignity, several key requirements must be met, including:

Honesty and integrity;

Courtesy;

Effective time management;

Market research and analysis;

Financial planning and identification of funding sources;

Project management and administration.

Debates on Constructing and Deconstructing Extremist Discourse: This session provides inmates with practical guidance through simulation exercises designed to train them in deconstructing extremist narratives. Using a dual approach of demolition and construction, participants apply tools and methodologies from the humanities and social sciences. Each group first creates an extremist, inflammatory discourse, then develops a counter-discourse grounded in critical thinking and deconstructive analysis. This process clarifies ambiguities, exposes doubts, and corrects false interpretations and exaggerated distortions. The arguments are then presented and explained to those who have deviated from correct reasoning, emphasizing evidence-based reasoning and sound logic.

Parallel Activities: A variety of parallel activities are organized to enrich the program, including sports practice and initiatives aimed at fostering environmental awareness and a sense of shared responsibility for communal spaces. These activities involve planting, watering, and maintaining greenery in the pedagogical center’s garden. Inmates also engage in artistic and cultural expression through poetry, prose, music, performances, and drawing.

["post-16786","program","type-program","status-publish","hentry

Stands of the program - moussalah en

<meta property="og:description" content="The program’s sessions are delivered by specialized instructors and cover a diverse and integrated range of subjects, including intellectual and religious training, legal and human rights education, psychological and behavioral development, socio-economic skills, as well as complementary activities such as diagnostic exercises, drawing, poetry, and gardening.
